ABOUT US
How the Teddy Bear Museum came to be
The Teddy Bear Museum was born from the concept of childhood and its symbols.
Rita Urbonavičiūtė, the author of the museum's idea and art director, created this space guided by the idea that childhood is united by one special symbol all over the world - the teddy bear.
A teddy bear is not just a toy. It is a part of security, warmth, fantasy and memories that accompany us from early childhood.
More than 3000 teddy bears from all over the world
Today, more than 3,000 teddy bears from various parts of the world live in the Teddy Bear Museum.
A large part of the exhibits are teddy bears donated by people, sent by mail, brought with stories and memories.
Each teddy bear is welcomed, protected and valued here, because it carries a unique emotion and story.
